…Sam Edelman that is.
I’ve loved Sam Edelman’s shoes off and on for years. My favorite pair of booties are a fashion-forward peep toe pair that I treated myself to three or four years ago. They are still a staple in my closet every fall.
Yesterday I was at the mall despite my self-imposed frivolous spending freeze. Sadly I had to visit the Apple store (I shattered my iPhone screen on Tuesday. Managed to only pay for a new screen and avoid the impulse 4S buy. I really want Verizon come January). I found myself with time to kill (dangerous) and visited my favorite place…the Nordstrom shoe department.
I mean, how do you not want to walk by, touch, hold and gawk over shoes like this?

The Scarlett pump is a crazy awesome mix of sweet and sassy. The blue is rich and would match perfectly with black or gray. The black sparkles and spikes give the shoe an edge that offers an unexpected punch to any mundane fall or winter outfit. I do realize that the heel is quite high and is not made for walking on icy sidewalks. Luckily snow melts fast in Denver so I’d probably be ok.
On the other hand, the Wilma Bootie is destined to be a go-to shoe. Paired with tights or under jeans, the sky is the limit October thru March.
“So, did she buy the beautiful shoes,” you may ask? Nope. I left the shoes where I was supposed to. Resting on their little display table, waiting for a gal who didn’t just review every penny of her entire budget and decide that there are bigger, more important things to be buying–like hopefully a home of our own one day.
Oh yeah, we’re “starting” to look at houses. We are not in the position to buy just yet but I know it is a complex process and I actually have no clue what my must-have’s are versus all the things I will have to comprise on given our price range. It is such an exciting prospect though–and just the thought that we MAY be able to buy something in the next year has already curbed my shopping habit (a bit).
