Sunday Blog Love ~ March 25

Love is all aroundExcuses, excuses. I have plenty of those for why the Sunday Blog Love series has fallen by the wayside. Those aside, it is one of my favorite posts to write so since I’ve found myself with a moment of “me” time, I thought I’d bring it back.

Enjoy…

Have a lovely Sunday!

Blog Love ~ Feb. 26

LoveSigh, it has been too long since my last Sunday Blog Love post. If you read Lex & Learn regularly you know that the first few months of 2012 are extremely hectic (in a good way) for Mike and me, so I am getting behind on blogging some weeks–but not this one!

Loves of the week include…

  • This killer weekend day and night ensemble by Sequins and Stripes. I am in love with the whole look, but am seriously debating whether or not to treat myself to that dress. It is still winter in Colorado so dresses with sleeves are a must, as is being able to rock dresses with tights.
  • The Everygirl launched this week and while I don’t know Danielle personally, from reading her blog she seems absolutely lovely and I’m excited for her success. If you don’t know what The Everygirl is yet, go learn about it right now!
  • Maybe I will do something like Project Life when I have kids, maybe I won’t. I’m not very crafty or patient. But my friend Lindsay is AMAZING at it and I am truly in awe of her Project Life digital creations. Her girls are going to love going through their books when they are older. Maybe Lindsay will teach me like she’s guiding my sister-in-law Kelly!

I also want to officially welcome Anne Mason to the blogging world. Anne is the fantastic better half to my cousin Joey. They live in New Orleans and just bought a beautiful old home…and according to her new blog Hammer & Heels, there are lots of projects in store.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Blog Love ~ Jan. 29

heartI wish I could live in half the blogs in my bookmark bar. I am in awe of how bloggers find time to discover beautiful things, but keep up their own site. Do they sleep? Luckily for all of us they must not, which means we get to enjoy prettiness like this.

What posts captured your heart this week?

Blog Love ~ Jan. 22

gold hearts
Another week, another “that is so freaking cool” trip through bloggers-ville.

  • I want to live at Danielle’s (Breakfast at Toast) house, or fly her to Denver to come decorate ours. WOW!
  • Admiring Katie from The Neo-traditionalist and her super chic pixie cut. I am still almost in tears some days because of how short my hair is right now, so I totally love her confidence for being able to go that short.
  • Camille Styles’ Sea Glass color collage embodies the essence of fresh and beautiful.
  • Colorado’s mountains (our second home) are finally getting the snow they so desperately need, so Hip Hip Gin Gin’s Let it Snow fashion and accessories guide came at a great time. I am really needing the navy hooded cardigan.
  • The neon genius on Shoppings My Cardio is more than a week old, but I was a bit behind in my blog reading and literally gasped at how awesome these runway looks are. I would kill to be able to pull this look off, especially because it would be so unexpected based on my typical style.

Have a fabulous Sunday!

Blog Love ~ January 15th

heartsIt has been much too long since I shared a “blog love” roundup. I read so many posts each week and always enjoy passing along little bits of inspiration to you. Now that owning a home has become more of a steady cadence of projects, instead of a race to unpack a mountain of boxes, I am again finding that hour on the couch to read my favorite blogs while Mike pretends not to be asleep. Bliss!

Speaking of bliss…

Have a lovely Sunday!

Blog Love ~ December 11

Love is all aroundI have been slacking on my Sunday blog love posts lately. Shame on me! The holidays seem to bring out the very best in many bloggers. Gorgeous clothes, cheery holiday decor–I’ve been glued to my computer nearly every evening.

Favorite posts from this week include…

  • Chocolate Mug Cake on Running to the Kitchen had me drooling and adding all of the ingredients to this week’s grocery shopping list
  • Cupcakes and Cashmere has me craving Gingerbread Snowflake Cookies
  • Keeping it Real with KP has an easy Peppermint Bark recipe. Great way to avoid the $25 price tag at Williams-Sonoma
  • Fur children love good style too, and Apartment 34 has a great Gone to the Dogs spread with chic dog beds that you can be proud to display in the living room

Happy Sunday all!

Blog Love ~ Nov. 20

Love is not Blind
Do you ever have those weeks as a blogger when it is especially hard to stay motivated? Busy days (and nights) with work and life’s other responsibilities tend to dry up any remaining creativity I have reserved for Lex & Learn. But then I read my favorite blogs, from top to bottom in my bookmarks folder, and I am reminded how much I love this strange online world.

Come down this week’s rabbit hole with me…

  • It may be getting colder in Denver, but the Grapefruit Jalapeno Margarita recipe on Fashionably Bombed makes me want to break out a sundress and throw a “there is no snow on the ground” party. I absolutely LOVE grapefruit in any cocktail.
  • A guest post about Conquering a Small Closet on Shopping’s My Cardio couldn’t have come at a better time. If we get the keys to the house we’ve bid on, small closets will be a reality I have to conquer. Old home = beautiful character = small closets.
  • Sequins and Stripes has been featuring amazing photos of her travels through Europe for the past few weeks, but her post Style Done Right brought me back to when I studied abroad in Spain and was jealous every single day of how European women make all black ensembles and a few accessories look insanely chic. Truly effortless.
  • Beautiful trays displayed on a coffee table is a look I really love. Camille Styles featured a gorgeous Chic Coffee Table spread complete with a vintage Hermes tray. While Hermes probably isn’t in my future, I do think that I want to create a similar tray and table look in our (fingres crossed) new house.

Happy Sunday my friends!

Parisian Love Lock
This week was insanely busy and I missed not having time every night to curl up with my laptop and favorite blogs. That said, a few still caught and held my attention all week.

I don’t want to jinx anything, but as a follow up to yesterday’s post on house hunting, we may have some news to announce soon. That means I’ll be on the hunt to expand my daily blog reading list from fashion and food to DIY home decorating, decor, renovations (on the cheap), etc.

Do you crush on any DIY home blogs that I should know about?

Have a lovely Sunday!

Weekly Blog Love ~ Oct. 23

some love in a mosaic
I’m not sure what it is about fall, but the blogs I adore have gotten even more lovely thanks to cozy ensembles and hearty recipes. All week I found myself reaching for my wallet (but exercised restraint) and adding to my grocery list after being inspired by so many great posts.

A few I suggest that you absolutely not miss are…

  • Getting “trashy” with an adorable Halloween Trash gluten free trail mix style recipe
  • Wedding Wednesday “Magic Moments” is an Apartment34 post that made me smile and think back to our wedding day earlier this year. I took solo photos in front of a full length mirror and they are some of my absolute favorite from the day
  • The Culinary Couple recently welcomed a beautiful baby boy to their family and I’ve been hanging on every word and picture of his birth story. He is precious and I can’t wait to watch how their blog evolves with a little one to cook for at home
  • Sequins & Stripes treats herself to “A Few Purchases for Europe” and I am obsessing over her Melissa Logo Frye Boots
  • I rarely ever buy flowers for a table but Camille Styles has me itching to create a vegetable inspired centerpiece using bright cabbages, brussel sprouts and onions. I love how different and unexpected it feels
  • Try saying chicken sausage enchilada spaghetti squash ten times fast. I can’t, but I sure want to try Running to the Kitchen’s recipe for it ASAP regardless

I hope you enjoy my weekly picks. Have a fantastic Sunday!

Weekly Blog Love ~ Oct. 16

loveThe past week was a bit crazy, and next week promises to test my wits as well. However, when I am stressed, I look forward to a quiet evening on the couch with Mike and “my blogs.” You see, he has tons of homework every night for his masters program so after dinner we sit together and he studies while I blog hop. It is a simple routine, but one that I look forward to daily.

Without further ado, my favorite posts from this week…

  • Back it Up by vmac + cheese made me want to run out and buy a backless dress. Sexy yet so classic.
  • I’m a vodka girl, so Hip Hip Gin Gin’s “Stunning Spirits” collage of gorgeous vodka bottles made me want to run out and stock our non-existent home bar area. I’m especially intrigued by the Prairie Organic Vodka offering. Has anyone tried it?
  • Dinner in 15 has never looked so easy, or so elegant, thanks to Not Without Salt’s guidance.
  • Apartment 34 has a great recipe for when you are Cooking for One.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday!
